Hey everyone. We wanted to let y’all know that Zbörnak has decided not to play the 5/19 show at Hennessy’s. In addition to a very late weeknight set time (after 11:00), the venue’s method of paying bands is to specifically ask attendees whom they’re there to see, and then pay the bands a percentage of the take based on this (after keeping the first 10 tickets-worth for themselves as well as other technicalities that can prevent bands from getting paid at all). What happens, for instance, and how do you choose if you’re there to see 2 or more of the bands? This strategy places bands on the same bill in competition with one another, and we don’t think that’s a great way to run a show or support a local music scene.
